Amanohashidate is one of Japan's most scenic views. Its appearance is the reason for its name - a bridge to heaven, being a white, fluttering bridge between the two coasts.

There are approximately 8,000 pines trees throughout its length and it is recommended for peaceful walks along the shoreline.

The most exciting thing though is to take the monorail and go at the top of the mountain to admire the view of the sea of Japan and Amanohashidate. Both ends of Amanohashidate have monorails and you can get a boat from the one to the other.
